I'm relatively new to this area and was looking for trails to ride. I've been going to Cowboy Badlands but I'm not a moto-cross guy. Please help me.

Wayne, I'm on the East side of Houston, just outside of Baytown. I'm familiar with most of the riding areas and sadly they are few and far between on the East side. You already know about Badlands but I would like to mention that there will be a Hare Scramble race out at that property on August 21 and 22. I'm pretty sure the promoter will be cutting some single track trail out there on that property for the race. You may end up with some decent single track out there once the race is over.

Check out TRH and our club property which is Skull Creek, though the membership is full for 2010 you can still join the club and then ride out there for club events. If you like the place you're welcomed to get on the membership waiting list for 2011. It's located on the West side in the Colombus area.

I'd also take a look at Rio Bravo which is located on the Northeast side of Houston, smaller piece of land but Danny (the owner) sure does a lot with what he has.

And there's the Sam Houston National forest. Lots of very nice single track and with trailheads scattered around the area (parking, loading, restrooms, etc).

If you'd like to give me a call I'll be happy to talk with you about other places to ride. Just shoot me a PM and I'll give you my number.

Ride Safe,
Lee

Hello Lee, I'm not sure if you got my email address from the "PM" method which I'm not totally familiar with. If not let me know and I'll try again.

Thanks,
Wayne.

I responded using the email that's integrated on this forum. Look at the top of the forum page (in the dark blue border) and you should see a flashing icon (small postal letter) next to the "My Stuff" link. Click the flashing icon and you'll be sent to your forum emails.

Take care,
Lee

Got it. I'm working some long hours this week and probably next week, so I'll give you a shout when things settle back to normal.

Thanks,
Wayne
