I have looked through a few of the forums but being unfamiliary with the area need some help. My family may be moving to Del Rio and we are looking for places to ride our ATV's and Dirtbike in the Val Verde area or within a couple hours drive time. We would also like information on kids riding areas.

I'm in the same boat. As far as in Del Rio, there's really nothing around. Some people ride at the "dump" still apparently, but rumor is that it's been closed off and could be considered trespassing. There used to be a track down by the river, but I talked to the owner a month or 2 ago and it's closed to the public permanently. There's a spot out behind the reservation (a neighborhood) that has a few small trails and some open areas and 1 or 2 small jumps that you can go rage around on if you just need to ride/test your bike, but it's not very exciting.

As far as nearby stuff, White Knuckle Ranch in Hondo (1.5hrs) is a great learning track, Cycle Ranch in Floresville (SE San Antonio, 3hrs) is an awesome fully prepped race track, and there's public land in San Angelo (2-2.5hrs) called Twin Buttes Reservoir Park (I haven't actually been there though, want to try soon). If you want to make a weekend out of it, there's lots of cool places all around the state, mostly north or east (or both) just not very close to Del RIo. Hope this helps!
