MY6 What year did you ride there? Do you remember Troy Brussard, Von Thomas, Brain Chissiom, or Chad Parker?

Some called this track the pier. In the early days of pleasure island the place was called the pier. I think the peir burned down and it was retained the name Pleasure island, the original track is long gone but a few years ago they had a race there i think it was called "revisted" many turned out and they raced quads also, it is now a golf course if i am not mistaken, great pics guys !

Thanks for the information on pleasure island. It is a tragedy that it is now a golf course. I can almost draw the whole track in my head as it used to be. It was a different time then, I wish I could revisit it.

My old riding buddies from Port Arthur, Chris Ihle, and Chuck Elliot, used to race here. Chris was the dude to beat and once beat Wyman Priddy back then. Chris was sponsored by the Suzuki Shop out of Port Arthur. I worked for the folks that owned the shop, Ed and Susan Schmidtke. I really miss those folks. We all used to windsurf together with the Sabine Sailing Association back in the early '80s there at Pleasure Island and a lot of those guys used to race mx at the track as well. I miss that place. Good times!

This was taken in 1974,or 1975 at pleasure Island. I can only remember myself and a guy named Brain Chisiom from Orange that rode in the 125 class.
Whis I could live in those days again.
