I am moving to Abilene in a few months and am wondering if there is any riding around Abilene. I am willing to travel to get to some good riding, but I would like to stay with in and hour or two of Abilene if possible. Does anyone have any knowledge of the area's riding? I tried going through a lot of the other posts, but was really lost due to not knowing the area or many of the city names beside the major cities. Any info is great. You can also just tell me what post to look at if you already posted stuff for someone else. Thanks for any information.

There was a decent spot by the lake to ride but from what I'm hearing they closed it down. There is a MX track here in abilene but it is only open on monday evenings. The other MX track is in Clyde about 20 minutes from Abilene and it's only open on sunday. As far as trails go, your best bet is Twin Buttes in San Angelo. Pretty good trails out there and it's about an hour away.

Yes the place out by the lake is closed. San Angelo is a good place to ride and from what I am being told there are more trails out there now. There is another place in Bronte( 40 minutes from Abilene) that is fun but you have to be a member of their club. When are you planning to get to Abilene? Here is a list of TX riding spots... http://www.txtracks.com/Dirt-Bike-ATV-Trails-Map.cfm
