I'm looking for some advice on teaching my boys how to shift their DRZ 70's. I have the throttle screws in place and want to teach them to shift at the slower speeds before i make any throttle adjustments. I know one of the problems is I haven't got them boots yet which will make it easier; but just looking for some guidance from you other parents on the best approach to teach shifting both up and down. Thank You.

John, I found a large flat area, and put my son on my bike with me. I had him listen to the engine RPM, and told him when I was shifting up and down. Then I had him ride his bake, and I rode beside him and told him to listen to his engine, and shift accordingly. We progressed from the flat area to some turns, and then inclines. He had it down by the end of the day.

Send them out to race the big track and let Jessica Parker take care of it. But stand out there any yell shift when the come by!
That's what we did with Kate!lol
You get another kid to ride behind them on the bike. Another kid will teach them more than anyone.
