I am missing a friends engagement party to come to this race, much to the disgust of my better half (she is putting the party on). This was my favorite enduro last year.

remember how the day started out? dang that's chilly for a south padre guy!

my campsite at concho, I spent 10 days in big bend just before this event

this poor guy was stuck with a broken clutch lever between two tough hillclimbs! I yelled back down to him that there was more knarly stuff if he got past the climb in front of him. I never saw him again either .......

he's down there somewhere .....

a nice view, and I wish I had more time to take pics along the way as now as I remember, there was some pretty cool stuff! ... and there was that goat trail along a overhang cliff, kinda like a tunnel of sorts ......

cookies? not for those in the later rows .....

I rode with these guys quite a bit. we teamed up on some of those hillclimbs in the beginning to help each other out. I did the b course so I broke off from them for awhile. I remember the c/b split well, the b trail went up to the right, and up it went! I sat there for more than a few moments wondering if I really had it in me to tackle that hill and get into b territory, heck c stuff was tough enough! I wacked the throttle a few times and went for it! It was fun making it thru that part. I did happen to catch up with these guys again for a short time but lost them somewhere along the way .....

yeah, concho get a big thumbs up from me!

Aww...I didn't realize the folks on the later rows missed the cookies. I'll make sure to have plenty this year. Thanks for sharing your pictures and stories!

Cool pics! They got my mind picturing the course and remembering the spots where I had trouble last year...did someone say sandy hill climb? There has not been much time to ride this year. It seems to have rained almost every weekend since September in the Houston area. Oh well, registration is sent and I can't wait to dodge rocks, cactus, & mesquite bushes.
