Erik at offroadchampions will fix the link to Ingram's report soon and Cameron Ishmael (5th), but in the meanwhile - here is Zach's report:
TORO- Round 5- Davis, OK
AA-Pro- 3rd Place/ 3rd Overall
Prerace:
This weekend was my brother Jakes birthday weekend. He decided Saturday morning that he wanted to go race, so we loaded up as quick as possible and headed to Davis, Oklahoma for round 5 of the TORO series. We arrived around 2 o’clock, just in time to get in one lap of practice. The track was pretty rough and wet, but it seemed to suite my style. More rain fell through the night, making for a tough race.
Race:
I got a good jump off the line and entered the woods in 3rd place, behind Haydn Franklin and Cooper Bailey. We had a pretty good pace going and pulled away from the rest of the field early. By the end of the first lap, Franklin pulled away from Bailey and I. Throughout the rest of the race, I tried to ride smooth and be smart through the deep creeks and rock gardens. I was about 20 seconds down from Bailey every time we came through the check. The last two laps I was able to catch him about half way through the lap, but small mistakes allowed him to pull away again. I ended up in third place, 20 seconds out of 2nd , and 1 minute 28 seconds from 1st! I felt strong throughout the 2 hour 20 minute race and I had energy to keep racing! I really felt like I had the potential to finish 2nd, but I'm very happy with 3rd. All in all the weekend turned out good and I thank TORO for sponsoring a great race.
Results:
1. Haydn Franklin
2. Cooper Bailey
3. Zach Ingram
4. Steve Leivan
5. Cameron Ishmael
