Ran into the law enforcement officer the last two weekends, patroling pretty heavily. One time he was gearing up with several others on 4 whhelers, going after hunters I think as his preffered prey that day. Ran into him again on the road to outlaw in his truck. Don't think this guy will be cutting anyone any slack so if your going to the forest have your stuff tight or just be prepared to write a check to support the SHNF.

Hey my tags are current and mufflers legal, but just out of curiosity, does anyone know how much the actual fines run for out of date Texas sticker or no Federal day pass/year pass, or no sparky? Just wondered if this was a $50 or $500 deal...

the guys up there are pretty nice...just don't be stupid and play by the rules.

avoid doing dumb stuff in the parking lots like i see alot of people doing.

i've seen a warning rather than a ticket written for a non-plated bike taking a "shortcut" on a fireroad...and the fines can be substancial, $250 for not wearing a helmet i believe.

one of the Rangers who monitors this board even gave us his office & cell phone number so we could call to see what the chances are for trails to be open after a closure.

i believe they're work'n on get'n him a motorcycle...can't wait to roost him :p

hahaha...

cheers

yeah, I thought we should get Jason on a bike too... but then I thought about it, and he will get hooked and addicted like everyone else, but then he will "close" the trails so he can ride solo !! LOL smile [no fear of a head-on]
