Ok, we have been working on the race classes, times and format and this is where we are with it. We reserve the right to make changes if someone comes up with a really terrific idea. It will be a mix of MX and woods that should suit about eveyone. The trails have not been ridden on since Spring and with all the rain they are looking pretty great. By the race the night track will be new like the day track, which is pretty awesome if you havent been there yet.

MX vs. off road class Tag team class

Intermediate MX = A
Novice MX = B
Beginner MX = C

D is first time racer class. You can only race D if doing so in a current off road series or this is your first ever event.
There will be a raffle Saturday night at 6:30 for items donated by event sponsors. Everyone entering the property will be given a raffle ticket at the front gate. Please thank our generous sponsors and support those that support you.

Everyone will be required to wear a wrist band without exception. Riders will be identified by a different color of wrist band than spectators.

Ace - In the rules, it says gas in the pit area only. Does this mean I cannot ride back to my truck and pit there if I exit and enter from the tag area?

thats right Don, we need to keep everyone in the pits for fuel. I would suggest getting their early enough to park your truck by the pit lane. We usually pit about 10-15 riders out of where we set up and will be glad to help you if needed.

Anyone needing pit support look us up under the Rockstar EZ up and we will get you hooked up.

We will work it for sure this weekend as we get serious about laying out this years course. One thought was to use the infield area to the left of the starting line. That way riders can pull off to pit easily by veering right after jump #13 (steep step up in the middle) then go all the way to the starting gates to use the starting line to safely reenter the race at jump #1. That also puts the tag area after the score tower, which is important this year incase someone gets "tagged" in the woods.

C and D are tag team two person classes. Ironman lite is a 2 hr single person class that runs in the afternoon class. We call it Ironman lite because the other ironman class in the morning race is 4 hrs long. Both ironman classes are open to any bike size but only A&B level riders in the morning and C&D riders in the afternoon race. Thanks.

Last year I did 1 refuel at the 1 hour mark in the 2 hour iron man class. I got fuel, goggles, and a new pair of gloves in less than 45 seconds.

Ryan and Justin were on the ball for the pit stop for sure, but my "bad ass" sponsor was out to lunch. I got a total of 2 pictures out of a 2 hour race, and they were both taken in the freakin pits. I even had to ask for one of them to be taken!

This year no bon fire for TERRI!

So if a "C" rider wants to run the 4 hour race they can race in the "B" class?

I think that's called sandbagging..... smile I ran the B class in March as well, took 7th place. I am asking because in the statement that I quoted it says C&D riders in the afternoon for the ironman. I was thinking about the 4 hour ironman since its 40 bucks like the 2 hour and I would get more bike time.

Any information on how the Saturday practice will be laid out? My daughter will be riding her first race and I'd like to know when the women class will practice and for how long each group will ride. Bronco.

Are the 50's going to do a tag team race or do they just race by themselfs. Also is Saterday's practice going to be free. For some reason I was thinking one year it was free, cannot remember if it was last year or the year before.

I was at the track all day yesterday and it was in good shape when we left.

They only got .05 total rain in Paige today (and the front has passed) and we have several days with no rain in the forecast till the race, we will be fine,

No sandbagging by us. We placed like 14th in the December race, and 3rd in the second one. There just wasn't as many riders the second time around. I am a C but am gonna do the 4 hour iron man with the A/B guys this year just to see if i can do it!

It is bright and sunny here in south Austin this morning!

Paige only got .6 total out of all this and it is sunny and windy at the track right now. We will be there again all day tomorrow and I will report back but at this point I am sure we will be fine. We put the track on high ground to make sure we didnt have any water or mud issues and Shawn is cleaning up a couple places with the dozer too.

When we lay it out we need to ensure the track holds up to all the riders and the amount of time we are going to be one it. We kinda make some weather assumptions (plan for the worst case scenario and we wont have any problems)as we work on it.

We wont be be crossing the big creek though, it has 5' of water in it and we are staying on the track side of it.

The Dec 2007 race had a bunch of mud / water crossings and it held up really well and was alot of fun. If I remember correctly wayne had to change all of his gear after his first lap...... Wayne, does this shot bring back any memories?

That pic does not do that spot justice, by the time our race came around it was a pretty gnarly crossing. There were some pics floating around that showed lots of people busting ass in that spot.

found the link to John's pics from the 2007 Tag Team: Click Here

Don't be skeer'd to put some water crossings in, it will make things interesting.

Here's the deal: My racing partner drank too much while putting in a new top end.. it well self destructed. parts backordered blah blah. it wont be repaired in time.

I have never been to a tag team race. If we used 1 bike would we lose much more time other than a simple 30 seconds of an extra refuel? Sounds pretty feasible to run 4 hours on the same bike.... my poor bike wink

No problem, a few teams every year end up sharing one bike. See you there.
