Problem with tires out is one we have no tires, and two the owner does not want the material thrown out of the arena, that is why the track is 35 feet wide. Plus I want to have some safety run off area for the riders and am mot comfortable forcing them up against the railing. Not into doing this to get people hurt, although the Volunteer Fire Dept folks do enjoy working a few crashes now and then. There are reasons and agreements for everything, some things are not visible until you get the entire picture.

Yeah, I can get Bill Syfan and Roy Jansen to come ride the Buell Pace bikes, oh forgot Buell is closed up.... smile

Yes, the pit bikes are one of the best conditioners of the sand/clay tracks I have ever seen. Better than a Leley Tiller on a 100 hp tractor.

How come we can't get all the knobby guys and gals to just get a pit bike or mad dog and come race those? Sounds way more logical than attempting to recruit the others.

We have had over 700 separate names race at the OK Corral over the past 5+ years, including 87 Pit Bikes. Where are the other 640 of those hiding? At the pace the kart classes are growing soon the event will look like the Tulsa Shootout.

not to get off subject to far but i'm curious about this, one of the race dates this season, set up the barn for tt, i know it takes the entire place to try to make a tt track.. make it double points.. maybe go a step further and make bikes and quads sit along the fence away from the crowd and riders run from the near side fence for the start.. lol
but one date, double points, all tt, could be fun?

Considering there's been next to nothing in the bikes other than the little guys, the pit bikes and the pros, why not do it? You made a special consideration for certain riders who rarely support your series, why not try something new? You tried the pit bike thing and it worked out for a couple of seasons bringing in a lot more guys, why not work with them and make a class? If you're afraid of the start then give them a rolling start or something.

Our TT race is held once per year at the Lightning C Arena where any and all can run Knobby Tires.

Yahoo has TT races 4 times this season indoors. The Tulsa Shootout is another Indoor TT.

The pit bikes sure helped it out last Sat night! They brought the moisture back to the top.But it kills the karts..Again Bret, good post to get some people talkin. We are runnin the scramble out here Nov 21 and if there is any knobby riders who would like to check it out im sure I can get them some track time...Just have them give me a shout and I will get the track prepped. This weekend is no good due to my neighbor having his daughters wedding,But any other time is fine.

I got a better idea, run all the flattrack motorcycles first, all the quads next, all the lawnmowers after that, and then the go karts, and the motorcycle knobby class, takes the same amount of time, oh... I forgot the chopper class.
