Personally, This is a Great Rule. I drive in, Park and my truck sits until I drive out. I have seen several people continue to drive around. nothing worse then trying to ride to the race and have to deal with cars on the trail too.
Good call Curtis!!
On another note: This is also On another thread, Everyone please help police the quads and dirt bikes during the race. I do not want to loose the ability to watch the races. Curtis and the TORN crew can not do it all. If you see someone crossing the track carelessly tell them to stop it. When crossing the track you should run across. with a Quad or bike punch it. You never know when the next racer will be coming. If the person does not listen, turn them in to Curtis. Everyone needs to get involved.
Hopefully I hi jacked it back to the subject.
Thanks Todd 590W

I can't say that I like the idea since my wife uses our car to watch me race. She does it so she can take my kids to watch me. Only because I don't let my kids cut the track to watch the racing on there bikes. After saying that I would be more then happy to keep the car in the pits if it helps keep the riders safe. The safty of the riders is way more important to me then my wife getting the "good shot" with the camera. We have other on the board that have 4 wheelers for that anyways. LOL

I think we need marked crossing areas with a flagger for everyones safety. I was there and saw what happens when ATV vs MX occurs, could have been much worse.I also think we should cut out the kids watching on bikes and atv's, as they tend to not pay good attention, and yes this will affect my kids, but at least they will be safe. Racing is a dangerous sport, we shouldn't have to watch out for people crossing the track too. Just my 2 cents!

My son, age 10 and has been riding for 5 years, isn't allowed to ride his bike to watch. He can ride with one of us adults or he can go to one spot without crossing the track to watch. I don't think it should be taken away from the kids but I do think parents need to watch their kids and not just allow them to run around alone. I am talking about kids that are under 12 who ride the pee wee track and don't really know where the big bike track runs or what direction.Honestly I have had more issues with adults crossing the track then kids. We need to patrol ourselves. I have been known to make several people mad because I have taken it apon myself to be a crossing guard after I watched the pro's have to hit their brakes to keep from hitting an ADULT who didn't realize where he was crossing was a place where the track split and he thought it was one line and stopped in the other. I stopped Curtis and told him about it and the next race it was ribboned off. BTW this was last season. I have also been known to tell people to get off the track. Yes I get the occasional smart mouth but most of the time it "oh crap I didn't know that was a line" This weekend was quiet the acception. This property, and a good one at that, has lots of places where you cross the track especailly going to the start. Most of the time there isn't so many crossings. One thing that I think needs to be looked at is the starting area. When I line up I ride the start to look to see where it goes, look for holes ect. There were so many 4 wheelers and pit bikes running up and down the start area that during the pro starts riders couldn't even go look without having to dodge pit riders. I know everyone wants to go tell their rider good luck, be safe ect but you can do that on foot or heck tell them before they leave camp. There are lots of folks who usually want or need someone there for umberella, starting blocks, make sure the kid doesn't stall it and can't start it ect. But you can park your ride outside the ribbons and walk to your rider and not down the middle of the start. Off my box now!

Hey Liss,
I very much agree, Curtis does not need to add people for crossing guards. We need to police them. We also need to tell people to stay away from the edge of the track. I remember at one race. The spectators were all around this down hill section. It took my until my second lap to realize, the spectators were covering an alternate trail down the hill. This was after waiting for someone. I could have taken the other trail if the people would have stood back. It is fun to watch but watch from a short distance away.
I also agree with the starts. I would like to practice my start once in a while. But you do not dare with all the people wondering around.
