Your so right small party wanting special treatment! But the poopers were sure were quick to shoot down the idea - grin

The poopers have listened to this vintage and adding classes thing for years. I'll make a class for the sons of ex Honda dealers if you can fill it.

Why not have one event (Red River / Houston) allow a vintage class this fall? No trophies need to be presented or if they need "vintage" trophies I'm sure we can come up with some. See how many entries show up. You could even entice them with a "vintage" entry fee for this one event. Promote it - use it to the club's advantage to create some excitement at an event. Have a "show and shine" on Saturday.

Not a bad idea, try it out and see how much interest it creates. I wonder which would be more fun on a vintage bike, Bill's woods or miles and miles of sand whoops at Caney Creek? BB

Actually, clubs don't need us to tell them what classes they can have. We only tell them what classes we sanction. Any club could add whatever class they want - it just won't earn circuit points.

Vintage class? Poor bass turds. Good luck! Twin shock only, eh? No disk brakes? No thanks!

BUT if y'all want to increase participation I would suggest a true dual sport class. There are a lot of dual sport folks out there and I think they could easily make the 10 rider minimum if a D/S class was offered. SpiDennis, Chris Hardy and others are all devout D/S riders. Letting them compete on the short course might bring a pile of riders out.

Just a thought but I would rather ride a KLX or Beemer than a true vinage bike.

FYI in the Feets up crowd...the vintage class in Texas typically is composed of no more than three bikes. And they all smoke.....A LOT. The bikes, not the riders sillies!!!

Deekaying...still

Bummer you will miss the Hancock DS event. I rode an ISDE Qualifier there and it is a beautiful place. 600 DS guys attended and it was all organized by Drew and Chris Smith.

Dude, talk up the DS and hit their web site. I am sure that a legal plate class would be a hit.

Of course we would need 20 more classes for DS singles, twins, over 300 pounds (the BIKE not the rider!)...but then we could have rider classes too....

Why yes, as you ask, the original enduro in America....they is some argument about that but Jack Pine is pretty old....from the 30's...folks RODE their bike to the event, took off the lights and such, rode 250 miles a day for TWO DAYS (500 miles)...and then put the lights and such back on and RODE HOME.

I think only TUFFERNHELL in Lubbock has done that in recent memory by riding a KTM LC4 from Lubbock to Cloudcroft, competing in the enduro and then riding home.

Hey, right now TSCEC can use some more entries so fire up them DS bikes and get set to have a real DS class! (do you have to use your turn signals?)
