am thinking about starting to run a few enduros, x-country, HS etc and need a little info from you fine folks. I am 46 and in relatively good shape so would probably run in an age class. I have a new 08 CRF250x that I have already pretty much modded for this type of riding.

My questions are:

1) For the majority of these events would the stock tank fuel capacaity be enough or should I go ahead and go with an IMS or Clark tank with a larger capacity?

2) Are the courses so gnarly that its very difficult or are they somewhat geared for all skill levels?

3) What kind of spectator areas are there at most events?

Thanks ahead for any info!

Ronnie

1) For the majority of these events would the stock tank fuel capacaity be enough or should I go ahead and go with an IMS or Clark tank with a larger capacity? You do not need to get a bigger tank, stock is plenty good and all enduro's have gas stops.

2) Are the courses so gnarly that its very difficult or are they somewhat geared for all skill levels? Short course is geared for us that wont to ride.

3) What kind of spectator areas are there at most events? Different at every event.

Come on go for it, it is a blast and dam good exercise.

The spectator aspect is hard at an enduro do to the Size of the course and terrain. HS or X-country is a lot more friendly due to the size of the course.

Depending on your actual skill level, been racing other forms of moto or not, I would suggest that you start in a (c) age class at least for the first race or two so you can judge for yourself how you stack up against the competition.
As far as fuel tanks go, the stock is adequate most of the time in enduros, but you could possibly benefit from a larger aftermarket tank in h/scrambles or cross country races for fewer fuel stops. The big deal is just get out there and have fun the first few times, I think you'll be amazed at just how good and kind enduro folks are!
