As many of you already know River Valley Mx will be hosting a RIDE day out at the track on Sunday, July 12, 2009 with all the proceeds going to
MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) in Memory of James Cucovatz, son of Doug Cucovatz. Doug is a friend to many in the Motocross community and can be seen riding or racing on almost any given weekend at one of the tracks. His son James was killed at just a young age of 18 by a drunk driver a little over a couple years ago. Many remember James as the guy that helped out with the announcing at Village Creek and a good rider himself.
River Valley Mx will be holding a practice on Saturday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. After the practice is over everyone is invited to spend the night and camp overnight at the track. The overnight camping is
FREE. On top of
FREE overnight camping Volunteers including Doug Cucovatz and his wife will be
COOKING HOT DOGS AND HAMBURGERS and they will also be
FREE to everyone that is spending the night out at the track Saturday night.
Sunday will bring the Benefit ride day. Practice will be from 9:00am - 5:00pm. The practice fee for this day will be $25.00 per rider. Spectator fees will be $5.00 per person in the car. There will be Jr. and Sr. Buddy races that we will be having during the day and the cost for it will be $10.00 per rider on the team or $20.00 per team. There will also be a pit bike race and the entry fees for it will be $10.00 per rider. There will be prizes given away for 1st - 3rd place in the races. Pit bike and buddy races will take place at 12:00. Keep in mind this is a benefit for a great cause to help support MADD and all the proceeds from the day on Sunday will be donated to this organization by River Valley Mx.
Come on out and help support a great cause and show the Cucovatz family that as a motocross community we really do care about the other members of our family.
River Valley Mx has really set the standard for a track that is willing to step up to the plate and hand over the money for causes whether it be to Benefit Cancer or a lost rider from a drunk driver. As riders we need to step up to the same plate and show up to these events and support them.
If you plan to come out and join us for this event that weekend we ask that you would
RSVP so that we can make sure we buy enough food on Saturday night to feed everyone that spends the night. If you could send an email to Liz Lux letting her know that you will be there and how many family members you are bringing that would be greatly appreciated.
