I am building a 3 bike trailer, the middle rail should be what distance pushed forward fron the two on the side so that the handle bars clear each other. How many inches or feet?

have you got all three bikes? line them up as you would on the trailer to get a good feel on the placement of your rails. also look to where your tie downs positions will be.

Build a flat utility trailer and use removeable wheel chocks. Much more usable as time marches on.

I have always used the treated 5/4" deck flooring on small trailers. Set the center (removeable) chock 16" ahead or behind the other two....

As time marches on and you lose your job due to the obamaconomy, you can use it to tow your lawnmower to your next job. Or you can use it to haul your ATV when you can no longer balance on 2 wheels.
