10 helpful tips at TORO races:

1. During the start of each of the races, spectators please pick one side of the start area or the other AND REMAIN ON THAT SIDE UNTIL ALL ROWS HAVE GONE (NO CROSSING IN FRONT OF THE LINES OF RACERS DURING THE START PROCESS!). If not, you will be issued a DQ.

2. Pit speed is 10mph (about first gear idle) with your wheels on the ground, acting right. The pits are any land that is not race course. If you do not follow this rule, you will be docked a lap.

3. During the races, please make certain where you are in relation to the race course and make sure to safely cross the course, if necessary. If not and you put a racer in harms way, you will be issued a DQ.

4. Practice only with the group you are signed up to race with. If not, you will be docked a lap. You must be signed up to race and have the appropriate colored band on your helmet chin guard to practice.

5. Have your race number on all three number plates. If not, you may be issued a DQ.

6. Transponders should be mounted properly as instructed HERE. If not, you run the risk of not being scored.

7. Cutting out obstacles on the course while racing or going inside of ribbon on the turns will get you a docked lap.

8. Practice - Please make sure you show sportsmanship while passing the slower riders during practice, open practice in particular. If you can not respect the other racers, we do not want you at TORO. You will be issued a DQ.

9. Red flag - when the red flag is displayed on the course it is closed. If you are on the course when it is closed, you will be issued a DQ. Exception: You are allowed to walk or ride a bicycle on the course until sun down. Hint: Course is closed until Saturday morning at 11am (this includes the PW course). It closes again at 2:50pm Saturday and remains closed until the parade lap leader leaves Sunday morning after the riders meeting. At dark - ALL pit vehicles in camp.

10. Unsportsmanlike conduct - 1st offense = DQ, 2nd offense = DQ and loss of points to date, 3rd offense = out of TORO.

Notes:
DQ=Disqualification
Racers are responsible for their guests and will be issued the penaties, if the guests do not comply.

Thank you,
Jenn
