Maybe if it gets cold enough all the mud will freeze and it will be like riding on hard pack. Maybe we could have some of those metal spike classes like on the old On-Any-Sunday movie for the solid ice tracks. According to the news this evening, Austin should be a great place to have our next FROZEN race track!

Grasping at straws to somehow get some riding in!

ps: Did anyone see I10 in Kerrville on the national news tonight. People were slip sliding away on the ice. Just to think, we were through there week before last.

I called the shop today to see if thay had some of those spikes for the tires.
Tim said; What the hell for. I told him I needed them for my truck. I drive 30 miles
to work with little or no traffic and it took me 1 1/2 hours. It's one solid sheet of ICE.
And it getting worse now. 25 degrees and sleeting. I'm staying home.

It's 27 degrees farenheit outside right now....that's COLD as far as I'm concerned!
School was cancelled today and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see the same tomorrow.
Maybe we will get to go riding, Andy!

Brian, I raced at Rio one time back in the late 70's where they had disked the track and watered it the night before. Temp then dropped below freezing the next morning and we were practicing on big chunks of frozen mud.It was AWFUL! Man ,but when it finally thawed out, it was GREAT! Them were the days when Red ran a quality track w/ good topsoil.

Before I moved to Texas in 74, I was a Yankee. The club that holds the outdoor Nationals at Binghamton, N.Y. used to have mud/snow scrambles....they were always fun. Then I moved to Chicago for a year, and there was a track at Byron, Ill. that did the same thing. I got my picture in "Dirt Bike" magazine at one of those races. I also had a buddy in N.Y. whose Dad had a a big horse barn to keep the valuable horses inside for the winter. We used to kick the horses out (when his parents were gone) and race our MX bikes short track style in the horse barn. It was great fun, until someone put their bike into the wall and made a huge dent (metal building). We all split and let him deal with his Dad!! Winter fun....but it should be left up north!!! Anyone have a horse barn I could ride in this weekend?? Danno, you know anyone that could get us access to the Dome?

I remember an enduro in Odessa one year- we had ice hanging from our fenders and bark busters and all the puddles were frozen. Man that was cold! I haven't been back to Odessa since to ride.

Anybody have a snowmobile that they can use to take me to school?
My school is supposed to start at 10:45 but I can't get out of my driveway......
THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED IT! The main road in p-ville has cars all over it and all I can hear is sirens.........
