Just so everyone knows...
The Flying P Cycle Ranch north of Weatherford is closed and down for the count. The ranch has been sold to new owners from California and they have no interest in dirt bikes. It's a dead issue.
One guy sues, wins a little money, and we're out the oldest cycle park in our part of the world for the rest of time. Yea, that seems fair..

Flying P was sold due to the owner's health concerns. Mr. Pope was not a spring chicken. He had undergone several surgeries and it was all too much for he and his wife to do trying to keep the place open. I called to verify and spoke directly with Mr. Pope.

What??? You don't trust me?
I've known Bill Pope and rode on his place for about 30 years. It was a great place until the lawsuit. After he sold half the land to pay for the suit, it really wasn't worth the drive for most folks.

Yea, I know. And I don't mind folks checking up on me. It keeps me honest.
I guess we're all still disappointed about losing the Flying P even though it has been a while now. I have fond memories of that place. It was almost like a second home. We had club rides, put on enduros and cross countries, and logged many a practice mile there. I learned a lot about off road riding from "Uncle" Marvin Youngblood and Barry Franklin at the Flyin P. I also watched Haydn Franklin grow up there on his little 80. I guess we should just enjoy what we have today before it ends up gone. So...... Let's head over to BMRA right now!

I guess this rumor just won't die. I was at a new dealer last friday (http://www.twodudesracing.com) and the wife of the owner swears somebody told her last week that flying P was back open.
Go figure!
