I dont know much about the bike portion cause im not in that scene but as far as 4x4 goes it is faily limited (legally anyways) we have worked extensively over the past year with the lake patrol out at Phantom and have come upon an agreement with them. the Platue area east of the damn is ok to play as long as you dont go down into the "lake bed" there is also a place on the west side of FM 600 heading towards the damn that is ok to play in and it has some small tight trails for ATV's and Bikes. the trick here is that you cant park on the side of the road to unload. when it comes to intense trails we usually just load up the trailers and take alittle trip. we have a Post Playday once a month at the Edwards Ranch in Post TX and a yearly event up in Aspermont. Members of our club (Big Country Off-Road) have been places like Moab, Farmington, Disney, Clayton, Katemcy, BMRA and Twin Butes. Next year we plan on these and other to include The Wheelin Ranch, Trees Ranch and Cline Ranch. we are also working on some more lease property alittle closer to home and to call our own!!!! if you are interested please hook up with us and we will be more than happy to show you around. there is actually a Post run coming up on the 9th of Oct.

Thanks for the info. I was told about the area off of FM600 and checked it out yesterday on my trail bike (first off-road bike since ~1989). It just whet my appetite for more and made every muscle in my body sore this morning!

How intense is the terrain at Post? I have a stock-height Ford Explorer with the BFG T/A KO's, IFS, Control-Trac, and a set of sliders that will support the truck. Ground clearance, I ain't got. It handled Goose Lake near Red River OK in August.

there is plenty of stuff you can handle at Pos tthen if you did goose lake. You might have seen some of the guys from 4x4 & More up there. they are our associate club in Lubbock. let me know if you want to go on the 9th and i will get you intouch with who ever is leading this one since im not going to be there. normally we meet that the Flying J truckstop in tye at 6am that morning. shot me an e-mail and i will send you the waiver to fill out and take with you and it is only 15 bucks for nonmembers. we had a little stock Samurai last time that went crazy out there and had a blast. with a traction aid and good sliders you would do good. hope you can make it.

Thanks for the invite - I don't think I can get free this weekend... We're going to D/FW to shop for baby furniture (sigh)

You could join the Ross Creek Trail Riders Club, their lease is just outside Blackwell. About 70 miles of trail.

There is also about a 3 mile loop of trail at the Clyde Motocross Track.
