Hey, anyone can give suggestions about going check out the area? or places to stay that you liked?

Thinking about taking the family out to see the area attractions...
It would be nice to bring the bike too!

Thanks,
Chad

there are a lot of places to stay on the Guadaloupe River outside of town, on River Road. Do a search for "New Braunfels camping". We stayed at the Rockin' R near the 1st crossing last summer, it was good, campsites on a bluff overlooking the river, but gets pretty muddy if it rains. This year we stayed at River Ridge (Rio Raft Company). You can't see the river from the campground, it's about 50-100 yards away. Lots more grass, though, less mud. It's near the 4th crossing, so it's pretty far from NB. The river was closed for 3 days when we were there 2 weeks ago, due to high water. Schlitterbahn was open, and not too crowded, spent 2 days there.

Correct me if I am wrong but Canyon Dam has been releasing water thru the dam at 4700cfm (cfs?) and has been closed for recreation....but don't take my word for it. Call and make sure.
We LOVE tubing on the Guadalupe River near New Braunfels!! My favorite summer time outdoors activity.

River Ridge also has cabins that overlook the river, about 50 yards up a grassy hill from the bank. The cabins are manufactured housing, but have a nice porch on the back. Those are the only ones I've seen, look around on the internet, there are a lot of choices.

Neo, you can call the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority at 830-964-3342 to check for (Guadalupe) river flow and (Canyon) lake level information.
